Since the disaster that happened last year with the Samsung Galaxy Note line-up, it is pretty sure that this time there won’t be such thing happening to the battery of the flagship. The galaxy s8 will be going to impress you with a larger display, faster innards and all-around spec improvements. Let us discuss each and every point in detail.

Galaxy S8 Release Dates & Price

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ are launched in India on April 19th 2017. There were no promises made in the Gear VR segment by the company at the launch event of Samsung Galaxy s8.

The beast will be sold in two variants, the S8 version and the S8 Plus version. The unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is priced at $720 making it one of the most expensive smartphones on the market. On the other hand, if you are interested in buying the Plus variant of the Samsung Galaxy S8, you’ll have to pay $799.99. Samsung Galaxy S8 comes to India a price of Rs. 57,900 while the Samsung Galaxy S8+ is priced at Rs. 64,900.

Design of the Galaxy S8 device

Companies like Samsung spend a lot on the R & D when it comes to the design and form factor of their tech. The main feature that steals your attention is the screen of the phone. The phone sports a massive screen that covers most of the front portion of the phone.

The bezel-less design gave much room for the display, therefore while increasing the screen size, Samsung had to compromise with the physical home button and capacitive back and multi-task buttons. This time Samsung have come up with on-screen buttons that we see the Google Pixel phones. Good move Samsung!

The on-screen home button doubles up as a pressure sensitive button that in a similar vein to that on the Apple’s iPhone 7, where you are supposed to press the home button and get some haptic feedback.

The fingerprint scanner has been moved to the back, which is a good thing but unfortunately, it is placed next to the camera. Honestly, it is placed a bit too high up for our liking, as we think that there will be accidental touches to the camera lens instead of the fingerprint sensor, which might leave potential smudges on the camera lens.

Well, let’s say that Samsung wants us to focus more on the facial recognition and the iris sensors for unlocking the phone. The outer rim of the phone is a fusion of both metal and glass, the headphone jack is still there, unlike the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

Camera

Let us be honest, if you are supposed to step up your game every single year, the camera must come at your priority, right? NO! This is not the case with the camera of the 2017 variant of the Samsung Galaxy s8. The device sports the same camera that was there on the Samsung Galaxy s7, which blew up several times in the last year and this is some the biggest disappointment about the s8.

Well, if being fair Samsung must’ve tweaked some or the many features and functionalities on their camera software so that the pictures looks way better. The device sports a 12-megapixel rear camera and an eight-megapixel front camera. If not by capturing images or videos, install Nomao Camera App to test the camera quality on your S8.

Battery

Samsung hasn’t done much in the battery department here; we guess this is because of the issues that Samsung encountered with the previous generation Galaxy Note lineup, Samsung is keeping them safe from any more hazards. The Samsung Galaxy S8 Sports a 3000 mAh battery that is non-user replaceable and is sealed inside of the phone.

This explains everything about the limited screen resolution that the Galaxy S8 is offering which is Full HD by default. The users are supposed to change the resolution manually to 2K if they want to. Both, Fast charging and Wireless charging are supported.

Operating System and tech specs

The device will be running Android Nougat with the latest build of the TouchWiz software out of the box. Samsung has also developed their personal assistant that is AI based called as Bixby that can be triggered by a dedicated physical button.

The device has 4 GB RAM under the hood and is built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor for the US variant and Exynos 8894 for the rest of the world.
