Know more About Nicolas Steno :
He was a Danish anatomist widely regarded as the father of geology. By 1659 he had decided not to accept anything simply written in a book, resolving instead to do research himself. He is considered the father of geology and stratigraphy. Steno was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1987. Steno’s work on the formation of rock layers and the fossils they contain was pivotal to the development of modern geology while his catholic piety has also been evaluated in recent decades with a view to his possible canonisation.
If you are searching for Steno’s hypothesis then here it is. Law of superposition was formulated in the 17th century by the Danish scientist Nicolas Steno and it was – “Sedimentary layers are deposited in a time sequence, with the oldest on the bottom and the youngest on the top.”
Google estimates it has created more than 1000 doodles since 1998 and they will still continue to celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous personalities like Steno.
