As we all know that the Olympic Games 2012 in London will be opened today. Google began celebrations of Opening of the Olympic Games 2012 by putting up a Doodle which looks like cartoon and showcased some of the more prominent sports at the Olympics.
A mouse-over over the Doodle reveals that it is meant to celebrate Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics 2012 and on clicking will lead to a search page searching for the name of Opening Ceremony London 2012.

Originally, the ancient Olympic Games were held in Olympia, Greece, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. Baron Pierre de Coubertin founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894. Since then, the Olympic Games are held every four years.

Over 10,000 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) are taking part in the Summer Olympic Games London 2012, from 27 July until 12 August 2012. As per the official blog of Olympic Games 2012, Danny Boyle the Oscar-winning director would be the artistic director for the opening ceremony and the music directors will be Rick Smith and Karl Hyde of the electronic music duo Underworld. Sir Paul McCartney has announced he will perform at the London 2012 Closing Ceremony.
The games is going to be officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. A short film starring Daniel Craig as secret agent James Bond will be screened throughout the television coverage of the ceremony.
