Google has unveiled Gmail 4.2 for Android. This upgrade offers some interesting news. You can drag your finger left or right to archive or delete a message, pinch to zoom in and display a message improved pictures as attachments.
The feature that allows you to zoom into the text of your e-mails also offers the possibility to automatically display text to the screen size of your Android tablet or smartphone. It is also possible to attach a video as an attachment to your message. The most interesting feature of this upgrade is definitely photo display attachments that now appear in miniature at the bottom of the message.
Pinch to Zoom Feature
With the Gmail 4.2 for Android, you can now choose to have the emails re-sized to fit neatly on your screen and pinch to zoom for a closer look. You can turn on auto-fit under Settings > General Settings.
Swipe to Archive or Delete
When you want to make your Gmail inbox clutter free quickly then this feature is for you. With Gmail 4.2 swipe feature that allows you to do just that. Swipe left or right to archive, directly from your inbox. Just visit Settings > General settings > Swiping conversation list if you prefer to delete from the inbox.
Thumbnails of Image Attachments
This upgrade, Gmail 4.2 for Android provides thumbnails of photo attachments where user can view images directly in the message. When an image is tapped, a photo gallery pops up that users can browse through for individual image viewing.
To install this update, your device must minimally have version 4.0 of Android. This means that only about 30% of Android users can get Gmail 4.2 upgrades.
