Tata Docomo to offer WI-Fi services in Connaught Place, Delhi

India’s popular telecom service provider, Tata Docomo has recently declared its partnership with the country’s capital city’s Municipal Council. The partnership has allowed Tata Docomo to provide WiFi service at the Connaught Place area of Delhi.

Starting from the 1st of July, Connaught Place in Delhi will be offered WiFi service from Tata Docomo as a result of the tie up between the company and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). The company further said in a statement that the WiFi range will cover approximately 4 kilometers to ensure uninterrupted network throughout the area.

As per the services being offered by Tata Docomo, the initial 20 minutes will be offered for free. After the initial 20 minutes, people are expected to choose among the various plans present online against payment. One can also purchase scratch cards in order to use the WiFi service. The different plans present for the access to the WiFi service starts from Rs. 20 for 40 minutes or 60 minutes for Rs. 30 and for Rs. 50 for 100 minutes.

To get access to WiFi services, the customers will be provided with a One-Time Password. As the name suggests, a person can log in and access the internet service with the One-Time Password provided by Tata Docomo, which can be used only for a single time.

Connaught Place is a famous landmark, situated in Delhi. The place is famous for shopping and small-scale businesses. Avinash Gabriel, the Chief Operating Officer of WiFi Business of Tata Docomo said that the WiFi services is being offered to focus on the potential clients who require access to high speed internet connection for their multiple mobile devices.

As reports suggest, this is not the first time that Tata Docomo has offered such area specific WiFi services. The company has provided the same facilities to other famous public areas in Delhi, such as the T3 International Airport, Delhi Domestic and Feroz Shah Kotla Cricket Stadium.

Similar services were also made available in hotels like The Leela, Le Meridien, Crown Plaza. Bluebells School International also received the same service.

Several other telecom operators have provided WiFi hotspots across India. Vodafone and Videocon are some of the telecom service providers who have established and are providing services in areas such as Gurgaon, MG Road, Brigade Road , etc.

With the recent developments that have taken place in the field of technology, we find ourselves constantly in need of internet for professional as well as personal purposes. Although we have access to 3G data packs in India, sometimes official and non-official work demands high speed internet. In such dire situations, one can access such WiFi services which is being provided by Tata Docomo.
